The Humane Society of the United States Meetup Group

Join
the Arizona Director of The Humane Society of the United States and meet with
other local animal protection advocates to discuss current issues affecting
animals. Meetings are held once a month in different areas of town. Each
meeting will provide attendees with legislative updates, news on current events,
and ways to take action for the animals. We usually have a presentation with
lots of Q&A as well as time to get to know each other. The Humane Society
of the United States is the nation's largest animal protection organization -
backed by over 10 million Americans, or one of every 30. Although not affiliated
with any local humane societies, we do work with them on a regular basis.

Vegetarian
Society of Phoenix
http://www.freewebs.com/vegsocphoenix/
As always, our potlucks are open to everyone,
regardless of official membership in the Vegetarian Society of Phoenix--so
please consider inviting a friend or three to join our scrumptious monthly
Sunday potluck! This group is for vegetarians, vegans, raw foodists, and
hikers to meet and dine at a different cafe or restaurant each month in the
Phoenix Metro Area. Also, this group will organize local hikes in the Phoenix
Metro Area and outside of Phoenix as well. Just come and join us and have fun!
There is no set agenda for the meetups. It is to make new friends, for people
who are like-minded. We talk about things like health, animal welfare and
protection, etc. Everyone is at a different level in their vegetarian diets.
Also, some members are at different hiking level skills. Some members have been
vegetarian for many years, yet others are just starting out. Some members have a
vegan diet (strict vegetarian and don't eat any animal products like: dairy,
meat, fowl, fish, seafood, honey, etc.). If you are interested in the vegetarian
or vegan lifestyle, or want to make new veggie friends, come join us. Everybody
is welcome! |
